About the Project
The Belchertown State School opened in Belchertown, Massachusetts in 1922 and closed its doors in 1992. The focus of this work is the history and memory surrounding this institution. My goal is to do justice in my storytelling for those who lived in the school.
About the DirectorDelene Case White started this project in the summer of 2015 as a digital humanities fellow (ETHIR) at the Special Collections and University Archives at the W.E.B. Du Bois Library at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is also completing a Ph.D. in German Studies with a dissertation about children in Holocaust films.
